Columbia Baroque Summer Institute

 Columbia Baroque Summer Recorder Institute

“German and Italian Delights"

Join us for a series of master classes for Baroque recorder players and auditors meeting four consecutive Monday evenings beginning July 8th. The sessions will feature chamber music by Telemann, Scarlatti, Uccellini, and Merula plus arrangements for recorder consort by Purcell and Holborne.  For the music of Telemann, in the second class meeting Gail will give a brief talk and a mini-performance of selections from the recently re-discovered Telemann Fantasias for solo gamba.  In the other classes we will study and play Telemann's highly ornamented Methodical Sonata and a favorite Telemann Trio Sonata.
